Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

MPI allows surface indications not normally visible to the human eye to be seen clearly.

Using an electromagnet, an indication (Crack, etc.) is magnetised, Iron Ink Particles are attracted to the magnetised indication allowing the inspector to clearly see the indication.

Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI)

LPI allows surface indications not normally visible to the human eye to be seen clearly.

​

• A Liquid Penetrant is applied to the test item.

• The Liquid will penetrate and fill the indication.

• The excess penetrant is wiped off the test item.

• The penetrant in the indication will remain.

• A developing agent is then applied which will draw out the liquid penetrant in indication allowing the indication to be clearly visible.
